RANDALL J. STROSSEN : MAN WITH AN IRONMIND
In April 2008, Randall J. Strossen received the European Weightlifting Federation Certificate of Merit. And thus, Randall Strossen became the first non-European ever to receive this award. The year marked Strossen's 13 th consecutive European Weigthlifting Championships. Add to this the coverage of the Olympic Games, the hundreds of articles written by him as a columnist for IRON MAN magazine, the five books he authored, mainly a biography of the mighty Paul Anderson and his extensive travelling around the world to witness and events; in fact, he travels more than 100 000 miles a year.
Randall J. Strossen, Ph. D. is the founder of IronMind Enterprises, a California - based company that is now known worldwide. Holding a doctorate in psychology from Stanford University, Randall Strossen is also the publisher and editor-in-chief of the quarterly MILO: A Journal For Serious Strength Athletes , and the man behind IRONMIND website, the most influential tool of the kind in the world as thousands log in every week to get the true picture of who is who and what is what in the world strength community. One estimates at over 7000 different articles, briefs or flash news over the past eight years and counting. And on top of such credentials, Randall Strossen is recognized as one if not THE world's leading strength-sports photographer.
In a recent article by Blair Anthony Robertson of the Sacramento Bee , it was written that Randall J. Strossen «built his company on a very from handshake», with reference to the trademarked Captain of Crush grippers, now culted all over the world, and that «he works 70 to 80 hours a week alongside his wife and eight employees to handle the orders pouring in from practically every where else but Nevada County, California».
It may be so in Strossen's IronMind Enterprises , tucked away in Grass Valley's industrial Park. But the hard fact is that Randall Strossen is, in 2008 and for years to come, one of the most influential leaders in the field of strength sports the world over. As he refers to the grippers he made famous he says: «We say that this is the gripper that changed the world.» And we says this about Randall Strossen: Above and beyond his huge contribution to the promotion of the iron game in all parts of the world, he truly stands out as the man with an iron mind.»
