ZYDRUNAS SAVICKAS : WORLD RECORDS BREAKER

Between 2005 and 2008, Big Z has almost done it all, except winning the world Strongest Man title, although he clinched two Strongman World Championships, six Arnold Strongman Classics (a record in itself) and 55 wins in international competitions (another record). Only three strength athletes have beaten him over the past four years: Vasyl Virastyuk, Mikhail Koklyaev and Robert Szczepansky, all three by a very close margin.
But his unsurpassed achievement is the number of strength world records he has established, still holds, while adding to the list. Fifteen world records ranging from the Viking Press, to the Yoke, the deadlift, the Apollon Axle, the Heavy Stones, the giant log lift, the overhead block lift.
The yoke in excess of 500 kg ( 1 100 lbs), the stones at 237 kg (522 lbs), the Apollon Axle at 6 X 166 kg (365 lbs), the Viking Press at over 140 kg (310 lbs) for 20 reps, and his latest record, the overhead log press at 207,5 kg (456,5 lbs) performed in Holland, on June
1 st , 2008.
The Lithuanian colossus is about to set new standards for strongman sport. An entire new generation of strength athletes will now look at Zydrunas Savickas as the strength world records' owner.
