ANDRUS MURUMETS : THE ESTONIAN POWERMAN
 The man from Eesti Vabariik (Republica of Estonia) has become one of the most recognizable strongman on the planet. He has done so by holding his own against such powerhouses as Zydrunas Savickas, Vasyl Virastyuk and Micha Koklyaev.
As a matter of contrast, Andrus Murumets looks as big as his country looks small in a world Atlas. Estonia is about the size of Switzerland, with a population of 1,5 million. Yet the history of this tiny country fetches way back into the Middle Ages. A Nordic country, some still say a Baltic country, Estonia has frontiers with Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Russia. And Andrus Murumets has shown his tremendous grip and power in all of these countries.
As a strongman he has been on the rise ever since 2005, when he made the podium with a 3 rd place at the European Strongman championships. He kept on the drive in 2006, with podiums in Dubai and Moscow. Came the year 2007, He made a third place at the Arnold Strongman Classic, next to big Z and Virastyuk, second at the European Championships, second at the Lituania Grand Prix, edged out by Zydrunas Savickas, then he won the Latvia Grand Prix over Vasyl Virastyk and won the Finland Grand Prix. And on top of this outstanding track record, Andrus Murumets was credited with the world record for the 160 kg (352 lbs) Farmer's walk over 50 meters (162,5 feet) in 43,6 secs.
Experts claim that Andrus Murumets may be the most underrated world-class strongman. He is known as "powerman". And he is prepared to live up to his real reputation.
