ARILD HAUGEN : VIKING POWER ON THE RISE

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

For more than a decade there was no question as to who was the King of strength in Norway.   It came down to one name: Svend Karlsen.   It became known as Viking Power.   And in 2001, when "King Svend" stood on top of the world of strength after winning the World Strongest Man's title, many thought that Scandinavians were the sole possessors of that coveted title.

But then, in 2006, the world strength community got a glimpse of one flashy character, strong as an ox, yet as athletic as can be.   And one who had enough charisma to rock the brotherhood of strongman.   His name: Arild Haugen.   That year he almost defeated Svend Karlsen at the Norway's Strongest Man contest.   That same year he challenged the best in the trade in Minsk, placing fifth at his first international contest.   And he made top 15 at the World's Strongest Man.   Not bad for a young man going on 20!

In 2007, he because the no 1 strongman in Norway.   In May of 2008 he won his second Norway's Strongest Man, under the watchful eye of Svend Karlsen himself.   Up comes the sword and the battle cry : "Viking Power"!   Arild "Hulk" Haugen seems ready to make it to the top.   Said he : "I am fast, explosive and hungry for victory.   FORTISSIMUS is like a dream come true to me, that is meeting the best in the world and fight against them".

The strongman from Sirda, a little place up in the mountains of Norway, could become the next big story in the sport.   As Arild Haugen looks as if he is possessed by the power of the mighty Thor himself.
