FORTISSIMUS, meaning «The mightiest», is a challenge of extreme strength events, a tribute to the legendary Louis Cyr, recognized as the strongest man of all times.
This decathlon of strength, consisting of ten events over two consecutive days, enlightens a century old tradition: a challenge issued to the best of best.
FORTISSIMUS, also named THE LOUIS CYR WORLD STRENGTH CHALLENGE, has issued invitations to world-class strength athletes throughout the world, on the basis of their track record. The top 10 will compete over two consecutive days, testing pure strength, extreme power, muscular resistance and endurance.
At the end, the winner of FORTISSIMUS will be crowned as Louis Cyr’s legitimate heir.
"You know as much as I do that Canadians have always admired the bold and the strong. So I know that given my strength, I have no other choice then becoming the strongest. Anything less will be unacceptable for me as well as for my countrymen."

"As I leave England, the records that I have just set and that are now an official, will stay that way. I came to the conclusion that nobody will beat them or will challenge me in a near future. What is left for me to do, is to set new records therefore beating my own. So that at the end, there will be only one name left in the record’s book, my own."
